Cold War Kids - Mine is Yours (2011)
Tumbln’ on the train today while listening to Cold War Kids. It is hard to get through this album. The only highlight of the album is the first track, Mine is Yours where it sounded even better when Passion Pit made a remix of it. Not a die hard fan of Cold War Kids so, there is nothing too memorable about it. But for Cold War Kids fans out there, this album may just be something to look forward to next week on January 25th.

Devotchka - 100 Lovers (2011)
About time Devotchka comes out with a new album. 100 Lovers is due out on March 1, 2011. The track preview, One Hundred Other Lovers sounds promising. It opens quietly with various layered instruments played backwards. I think it is totally refreshing to hear Nick Urata’s voice again. Here’s hoping that Devotchka will not disappoint us this year.

Braids - Native Speaker (2011)
Despite well-executed, I cannot help but call out on them: this album is a complete knockoff of Feels (2005) by Animal Collective. Besides, the second track sounds a lot like Sunset Rubdown - Dragonslayer (2009). How original.
